What would you change today if I could wave a magic wand and give you whatever your heart desires?

You really could do any of those things! Maybe not overnight, but they are definitely things that you could have.

Have you heard about a thing called life coaching and wondered how a life coach can help you?

Have your ever wondered how can a life coach help me? With the life coaching becoming more known, you might be curious. I’ll walk you through what life coaching is and how it can help you change your life.

The struggle is real my friends. Life can be really hard in so many ways. We face tough things and tough times.

Yet, some of the pain is optional. For instance, as a life and weight loss coach, I help women identify the things that they can change and  challenge their thinking about the things they can’t change.

This is so important. We cause so much of our own suffering by arguing, usually in our heads, with reality.

We don’t like some things. And we often don’t like the way some people act. In addition, we don’t like, oh, so many things about ourselves.

And we stay in a cycle of misery, hoping things outside our control will change so we can feel better.

I’ve got a better way for you. Focus on yourself. You, the only person that you have any control over. With life coaching, you can do this!

Life Coaching changes your life from the inside out. It all starts with you.

How Does Life Coaching Work?

Most of the time, we try to change our lives from the outside in.

What does that mean?

For most people, they try to make changes by changing the circumstances of their lives. If you don’t feel happy, you think the reason is because of: someone else, a situation, or something about yourself.

For example, a huge one is weight. Most women believe that their lives would be better if only they lost some weight.

And with that is the belief that they would be happier at a different weight, so they go on a diet with or without success.

But here’s the thing, if you haven’t done the work on your thoughts and feelings, before trying to lose weight, you either don’t lose the weight or you quickly regain it.

Another way women try to feel happier is changing the people in their lives or their jobs. Or moving. Or getting another degree or certification.

How many of you have ever thought that you would feel better if someone else would change first or act better? We all fall for that at times. Even coaches.

The secret behind life coaching is that all positive change, starts with your thoughts and feelings. When that is your foundation, then you have a much better chance of making the right kind of change.

If you just change something without doing the work before, you drag your ineffective thoughts along with you and you simply get more of the same.

What Can You Change with Life Coaching?

You can address anything that is a problem in your life with life coaching. Here are some of the common issues that bring a client to coaching are:

  • Weight Loss
  • Relationships
  • Work or business
  • Time management
  • Feeling of missing out
  • Feeling hopeless about life
  • Going through a breakup or divorce
  • Not happy and can’t figure out why

Most women I know truly try their best to be the best they can be. They give until they have nothing left and then they give some more.

Having a life coach to work with will help you get to the source of your pain.

It will give you the space to explore your issue, allow you to become clear on what the REAL problem is, and teach you to overcome obstacles and develop strategies.

What is a Life Coach?

A life coach isn’t your best friend or mom. A life coach is a completely different kind of relationship.

Your coach is 100% on your side. Your coach wants you to trade suffering for a clear mind and action plan.

A life coach sits with you and looks at your thoughts, feelings, and actions and shows you exactly why you are getting the results that you are getting.

Once you are clear on the causes of your problem, your coach will help you create the mindset and strategy to make the changes you want.

What Does a Life Coaching Session Look Like?

You’ll have your coaching session via Zoom, so we can talk face-to-face. The session will be led by the coach and is 100% focused on you.

Ready to coach!

You’ll bring your issue to the session and we’ll look at it together. We’ll really break it down and see where you are in your thoughts, feelings, and actions.

Usually, there is a result that you would rather have than the one you are getting.

A lot of times, just seeing how you are currently creating a result, will get the ball rolling on change.

Your coach won’t tell you what to do.

Your coach will show you how to either accept a situation or help you find the direction to make changes that you want.

How Long Does Life Coaching Last?

For me, the rest of my life! The longer I’ve been coached, the more effectively I live my life. This has resulted in me earning more money, managing my time better, and being in healthier relationships.

Most coaching packages start with a commitment of a minimum of six weeks. I recommend starting with at least six weeks but 12 to 24 weeks is more realistic to make lasting change and see huge growth.

How Do I Get Started with Life Coaching?

Start with a free mini-session or discovery call. Almost every life coach offers one of these.

The purpose is to help you get clarity about whatever your issue is and to see if the coach is a good fit for you and if you are a good fit for the coach.

Towards the end of the free call, the coach will give you some feedback, explain what it’s like to work with them, and tell you how much it will cost.

Then the coach will ask you to make a decision.

Your decision will be yes or no. Either is fine.

However, if you know in your gut that this coach is the person that can help you, then I recommend you say yes and commit 100%.

While coaching can seem like a lot of money, you can decide when you start that you are going to get that much value out of it.

The Cost of Not Getting Help

The cost of not getting help is time, health, relationships, or money. I have always been an avid do-it-yourself kind of person. Now looking back, I wish I had found life coaching earlier!

Life coaching can make a huge difference in the quality of your life!

My life is so much better now.

However, I found life coaching at the perfect time—the time I found it. I couldn’t know what I didn’t know and that’s okay.

My health was already good. What has changed dramatically for me is my ability to earn money, how I enjoy all my relationships much more, and how I can manage my time like a boss.

Time management alone has been worth everything to me! I cringe when I think of how much time I wasted in the past.

But no more. That is one area that I will never be the same again.

How Life Coaching Can Help You Change Your Life

It’s not an exaggeration to say that I truly have created a life I love because of my own experience with life coaching. The best coaches always get coached themselves.

While I am still very human, I feel sad, angry, or frustrated at times, I also have access to so many other amazing feelings. Feeling determined, committed, proud, content, strong, visible, vibrant are among some that come to mind.

These are great questions to ask yourself.

  • What do I need help with?
  • How do I want to feel?
  • What would I do, if I could just get started?
  • What am I so tired of and just want to get out of a never-ending cycle of.
  • What would my ideal life look like in five years?

At the very least, really start imagining how your life could be different.

Then take a baby step towards it.
