Up here in the mountains there are many critters to watch out for, but coming down the road at 30-40 mph is quite a thrill. I dread the day a deer or coyote runs across in front of me. I will yell loudly, “On your left.”

Thank you. I wish you well and admire you for your quest to get people into cycling I have been doing the same in a different realm most of my life. I have seen so many lives transformed for the better, from seeing Vietnam and Iraq vet's with P.T.S.D. toss their med's for what they got back from the ride. Alcohol and drug addiction victim's turn to the bike finding the euphoric feel of it is pure and clean and a one way street to a better life. Some people will need to be coached into it in small doses and some will jump right into it. How ever they get there, Its going to be a life changer that they will come back and thank you for .

Indeed, down hill decent's are the reward for the effort put into getting to the top. Just as the wind can be your adversary or your friend. Anything that builds character has rewards in some abstract way. Don't let them slip buy you without noticing them.

As the late great Robin Williams said, who was an avid cyclist. Its the closest thing to flying without leaving the ground. I'm 72 years old and have been riding heavily for 40 years with road bikes. Don't worry about looking like a bill board rider out there with all the company logos on the jersey, A cut up sweat shirt is great And for the Buck Rogers and Flash Gorden helmets, not to worry, Its one of those things that look cool and makes you part of the tribe. Not to mention its all that stands between your skull, brain and the asphalt. I tell everyone getting into it to start with buying some padded riding shorts. That can turn a long ride into shorter more comfortable ride. To quote Eddy Merckx. Ride as long as you want or as short as you want. BUT RIDE
